ScopedLabs changelog

A running record of major ScopedLabs updates, feature improvements, and platform polish.

Physical Security Category Completion

The Physical Security category is complete as the first reusable ScopedLabs category-factory model. The final flow now connects Area / Zone Planner, the core Physical Security tools, Lens Selection, optional specialty branch zones, and the Physical Security Summary page into one category-level planning and report workflow.

  • Established Area / Zone Planner as the Physical Security planning control center.
  • Confirmed Face Recognition and License Plate Capture as optional specialty branch zones that attach back into Summary.
  • Aligned Lens Selection to the final Physical Security Summary route.
  • Moved the permanent Physical Security master/category assistant to the Summary page.
  • Preserved local assistant/validator behavior on individual tools while Summary handles category-level review.
  • Added category-level Risk, Watch, and missing-step prioritization through the Physical Security master assistant.
  • Polished Summary report metadata, area/zone rollups, Tool Notes, print/save report output, account snapshot readability, export wrapping, and reset behavior.
  • Preserved deterministic tool math, auth, checkout, export, snapshot, Knowledge Base, and pipeline behavior.

This completes the first full category pattern for future ScopedLabs categories: local tool assistants feed one category Summary assistant, which can later feed a global Site Assistant.

Physical Security Pipeline Guardrails

The Physical Security guided design flow now includes assumption/source tracking across the pipeline. Carried-forward values can be edited without being silently overwritten, and ScopedLabs now labels those edits as local what-if branches instead of treating them as clean pipeline truth.

  • Added manual override detection for carried pipeline values across the Physical Security flow.
  • Imported values now remain editable without snapping back during input changes.
  • Manual override notices now appear when a carried value is changed inside a tool.
  • Lens Selection now distinguishes clean pipeline values, normal manual overrides, Design Assistant scenarios, and standalone validation scenarios.
  • Added source-tracking metadata groundwork for future final pipeline exports with Assumption Integrity / Source Summary reporting.

This upgrade improves transparency by showing when a result is based on clean pipeline assumptions, a manual override, an assisted design scenario, or a standalone validation scenario.

Category Planning Guides Completed

Completed the category-level planning guide rollout across all active ScopedLabs categories. Each guide now explains the practical workflow behind the tools, including what to check first, why each step matters, where supporting calculators fit, and which assumptions should be documented.

  • Added full planning guides for Access Control, Compute, Infrastructure, Network & Throughput, Performance, Physical Security, Thermal, Video & Storage, and Wireless.
  • Kept Power & Runtime as the gold-standard guide pattern and aligned the remaining category guides to that structure.
  • Added guide cards to category pages so visitors can read the planning workflow before opening individual tools.
  • Updated sitemap entries for the new guide URLs and submitted them through Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
  • Changed the main navigation from sticky behavior to fixed navigation so long guide pages remain easier to browse.
  • Preserved existing calculator behavior, Knowledge Base behavior, export reports, saved snapshots, checkout, and account flow.

Knowledge Base Expansion Completed

Expanded and standardized Knowledge Base guidance across all active ScopedLabs tool categories. Tool guides now include richer input descriptions, practical planning context, and related concept references while preserving the existing calculator workflow.

  • Polished Knowledge Base content across all active tool categories.
  • Matched guide input descriptions to the visible labels used on tool pages where possible.
  • Added concept-based related Knowledge Base references without changing URLs, pipeline state, or calculator behavior.
  • Improved the shared help engine so related guides open in place with one-level behavior instead of nested rabbit holes.
  • Kept the Knowledge Base system reusable for future tools, categories, and niche-site templates.
